This trunk show of authentic items is brought right to your classroom for a fun, creative and learning experience. As students see and feel artifacts, they will learn about life from long ago. Imagine ironing with a heavy iron, playing with corncob dolls, looking at a stereoscope instead of a TV, and scrubbing clothes with a scrub board!

Elections Then and Now.

This activity is brought to 4th and 5th grade classrooms.
Engage your students in learning about elections! This hands-on activity will allow students to learn, imagine, and create. Students will learn about the famous 1840 Vote of Cumberland, see how technology has changed over the past 100 years, vote by paper ballot (boys only), learn about women and voting, and make a political button. Learn what motivated people to vote then and now!

kids on the homefront:

This activity is brought to 4th grade classrooms.
Students will learn what it was like to be a child during World War II; what they did for fun, to help the war effort, and how their lives were affected. Activities may include separating milkweed, making Victory banners, and designing posters, sampling ration cakes, making airplanes and creating V-Mail. This 90 minute activity includes 3 stations and one exhibit. $2 fee per student is charged to help cover costs.


Faces of WWII:

Students will discover how code breakers, spies, war dogs, Tuskegee Airmen and women contributed to the armed forces. Hand on activities will allow students to explore the roles of each segment. 3 Stations and an exhibit make up this hands-on classroom experience. $2 fee per student to cover materials.


Operation Footlocker :

Hands-on Exploration of WWII artifacts. Students will explore primary source documents and artifacts to learn about WWII. Includes writing activities.
